Programming  Instructions

Use this Procedure for Vehicles with Driver Information Center 

Note: Driver Information Center is the Button with Car and i Symbol [🚘 i]
  • Insert Key and turn to ON position so you can access Driver Information Center
  • Press the vehicle information button until PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays
  • Press the set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE displays
  • Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first keyless remote at the same time for approximately 15 seconds. (On vehicles with memory recall seats, the first remote learned with match driver 1 and the second will match driver 2) 
  • A chime will sound indicating that the remote is programmed
  • To program additional remotes at this time repeat step 4, This vehicle can have a maximum of eight remotes programmed
  • To exit programming mode turn the key off and remove
  • Test remote(s)
Use this Procedure for Vehicles without Drivers Information Center
  •  Insert key into ignition and turn to the on position
  • Press the trip odometer reset stem until RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays
  • Press and hold the trip odometer reset stem for three seconds. The message REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE will display 3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first keyless remote at the same time for approximately 15 seconds
  • A chime will sound indicating that the remote is programmed
  • To program additional remotes at this time repeat step 3. This vehicle can have a maximum of eight remotes programmed
  •  Turn key off and remove
  • Test remote(s)

Programming  Instructions

Programming instruction are for the following Vehicles:

Escalade (2003-2006), Avalanche (2003-2006), Silverado (2003-2007), SSR (2003-2004), Suburban (2003-2007), Tahoe (2003-2007), Sierra (2003-2007), Yukon (2003-2007), H1 (2003-2003), H2 (2003-2007), Torrent (2006-2007), Vue (2004-2007)

NOTE: Equinox 2005-2006 need dealership programming.
  • Hold down unlock button on door, not transmitter
  • While holding down, turn key on, off, on, off. (do not turn key all the way to start)
  • Leave key in off position and let go of the unlock button. Doors should lock and unlock and horn should beep. It is now in program mode
  • Hold down the lock and unlock on the transmitter for approximately 30-60 seconds. The door locks will cycle when that transmitter is programmed. Take the next transmitter and do the same with it. After they are both programmed turn the key on and doors will cycle again and the horn will beep. This takes it out of program mode. You’re set to go

Programming  Instructions

Note:
  • To initiate, this procedure requires that a learned master key be available.
  • This procedure adds keys only. 
  • The procedure does not erase previously learned keys.
  • The keys to be learned must duplicate the mechanical cut of the current key.
  • If more than one valet key is to be learned, immediately precede each valet key with a learned master key.
  • Place an already programmed key in the keyway (ignition). Cycle the ignition from OFF to ON
  • Within 15 seconds, insert the new, properly cut transponder key in the ignition. Turn the key to ON (RUN) or START. The “security” indicator light will go on and off. Turn the key “OFF”
  • The key will now start the car. Repeat the second step for each new key to be programmed

Programming  Instructions

Use this Procedure for All Keys Lost
  • Insert the new cut key into ignition cylinder and turn it to the ON position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next step
  • Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten more minutes. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next step
  • Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten more minutes
  • After the security light has gone off for the third time, turn key off and remove from ignition. The key is now programmed and all other keys have been erased
  • Insert key and start the vehicle to test key.
Use this Procedure to Add an Extra Key
  • Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder
  •  Turn ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to OFF position
  • Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds insert new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds
  • Turn key OFF then back to ON. The key is now programmed. Start vehicle to test

Transponder Chip Key

Programming Instructions

ADD KEY
  • Insert the "Original" (working) Key
  • Turn the Ignition to ON (RUN), but do NOT start the engine. Turn the Ignition OFF and remove the key
  • Within 15 seconds insert the new "duplicate" key and turn the Ignition to the ON position. The Security indicator should light for about 2 seconds to indicate that the new key has been programmed
ALL KEYS LOST
  • Insert a "Master" Passkey III (PK3) Key
  • Turn the Ignition to ON, but do NOT start the engine. You should see the "Security" message on the dash for about 10 minutes and then it will turn off
  • Turn OFF the Ignition and wait 5 seconds
  • Repeat the above steps (1-3) a total of 3 times, or a total of 30 minutes
  • After the third time (including turning back to the OFF position), start the car
Important Note: When the above procedure is used, all previously learned keys will be erased from system memory

Can I program keys myself?

Yes, you can program additional keys by yourself if you already have one working keys for your car.

Should I take these keys to a dealership or elsewhere? 

Please try self-programming first. If self-programming didn’t work out please take them to any Automotive Locksmith near you. Note: Dealership may not program aftermarket remotes and they usually claim aftermarket remotes are defective even without trying the programming. 

Can I Program these remotes myself? 

Yes, you can if your vehicle is listed on our self-programming instruction. If you have check engine light on, you might have to clear the error code prior to programming.

Does this come with the programmable chip?

Yes, please try self-programming instruction or take it to local automotive locksmith for getting them programmed to your car.

Where do I have the key cut?

You can take them to Canadian Tire, Home Depot or any hardware store. After having them cut please try self-programming instructions.
If your key is a flip key, those blades need special cutting, please take them to dealership or automotive locksmith just for the cutting. After having them cut please follow self-programming instruction.
