### Product Details

Fuel Tank Cap (MGC40) by MotoRad®. Standard. Vented. Without Tether. MotoRad fuel caps are designed and manufactured to prevent fuel loss, primarily through evaporation. A faulty or leaky fuel cap emit up-to 30 gallons of fuel per year in to the atmosphere. All of MotoRad’s fuel caps meet all Federal (MVSS301) and I/M 240 requirements.

MotoRad fuel caps pass the tip test, impact test, valve performance test and the leak test.

MotoRad standard fuel caps pass all state and federal emissions requirements. The caps are specifically designed with pressure and vacuum relief valves to prevent evaporation of fuel. Save fuel and reduce emissions by installing a new fuel cap. If your gas cap is beginning to emit fuel vapors, your check engine light may come on after your next fill up. That's because the seal is deteriorating and it is no longer holding pressure inside the fuel tank like it should.

Fuel caps can leak regardless of age, however they will leak at a higher rate if the vehicle is more than 3 years old or if you live in a very hot or dry climate.
